First-Year Programs & Seminars Application

First-Year Programs Sign-Up

Welcome to the First-Year Programs sign-up for 2026!

General Sign-Up is now open and will close on Friday, June 26 at 12:00 p.m. CST.

Please review all information about the sign-up process before completing this webform. Only students admitted into the College of Arts & Sciences will be able to sign-up for a First-Year Program through this process. Students will only be admitted to ONE First-Year Program through this process, but all students, regardless of their school, are welcome to register for additional First-Year Programs during regular registration on July 8.

When you sign-up, you may rank up to 4 First-Year Programs. You may rank only one Ampersand Program, and it must be your first choice, though you may also optionally select a back up. Ampersand Programs also require a short, program-specific essay. First-Year Seminars, First-Year Opportunities, and Beyond Boundaries may be ranked in any position, in any combination, and do not require an essay.

Some First-Year Programs are filled during Priority Sign-Up and no longer accepting sign-ups. Only First-Year Programs with availability for placement are listed on the webform. We recommend you review the current list of First-Year Programs carefully.

General Sign-Ups are first come, first served. Students who sign-up during General Sign-Up will receive an email to their WashU email address on a rolling basis that indicates they’ve been placed and that contains directions about how to check their enrollment in Workday.

If you have questions regarding the First-Year Programs sign-up process, please contact us at: artsci-firstyearprograms@email.wustl.edu.
